Vision and Philosophy

What is HGBBC all about?

Goal – challenge hearts to change for God’s glory

We want God to use this ministry to change hearts and thereby change lives for His glory. How are we going to accomplish this goal? God is the only one that can change a heart but he can use this ministry as a tool for challenging each camper from the Word of God about their need of change. What is man’s need of change? He needs to be regenerated (changed from dead to alive) and transformed (changed from thinking like man to thinking like God). Where does all this change take place? In the heart!

Specifically – Primary Goal

Use the tool of camping to assist the ABA churches in evangelization and edification by presenting the truth of God’s Word to individuals and families so that hearts may be changed for God’s glory.

The tool of change  – “Use the tool of camping…”

                                The “what” of the goal

The tool is the camp setting (these facilities as well as God’s creation), atmosphere (separated and controlled) and program.

The co-laborer of change  – “… to assist the ABA Churches…”

The Church - HGBBC is a TOOL of the ABA churches

When hearts are changed for God’s glory the ABA churches are strengthened.

The goal of change  – “… in evangelization and edification…”

                                Salvation - evangelization

Sanctification – changing to become like Christ, edification “to build up”

The cause of change  – “… by presenting the truth of God’s Word…”

                                The “how” of the goal

The only source of truth – God’s Word

The participants of change  – “… to individuals and families…”

                                The “who” of the goal

The individual – age, gender or interest specific camps

The family unit – college/career, couples and family camps

Father/son/daughter, Fathers, Mothers, Home School etc.

The target of change  – “… so that hearts…”

                                The “where” of the goal

When hearts are changed then lives will be changed

The purpose of change  – “… may be changed for God’s glory”

                                The “why” of the goal

For God’s glory – changed to be like Christ

Specifically – Secondary Goal

Use the God given facilities and program of HGBBC to assist other churches of like faith and practice in evangelization and edification by helping them present the truth of God’s Word so that hearts may be changed for God’s glory.

The tool of change – “Use the God given facilities and program of HGBBC…”

                                Facilities – camp rentals

Program – HGBBC’s program promoted in other churches

The co-laborer of change – “… to assist other churches of like faith and practice…”

The Church - HGBBC is a TOOL of the churches

Churches of like faith and practice

In agreement with our statement of Faith

In agreement with our standards of practice

Music, Dress, Speech and Deportment in worship

The cause of change – “… by helping them present the truth of God’s Word…”

The only source of truth – God’s Word must be the focus even in rental camps
